The Volunteer Program at York Place is part of a tradition of helping children and families that began in 1850. The purpose of our Volunteer program is to enhance the child's experience at York place while at the same time support the structured, therapeutic program of campus life.
There are many opportunities to help the children at York Place. We hope that you will find one that interests you
Please remember, we have listed several ideas, but all ideas to help are welcome!
• "Friends for Kids" - Be a special friend or a mentor to a child Working in the Library
• Working in the “Kids Kloset” (Clothing for Children)
• Special Events and Fund Raisers
• Cultural Activities
• Sharing your Talents: Give lessons, i.e. piano, voice, dance, art etc. to children with special interests and talents.
• Administrative Assistance
• Volunteer Newsletter
• Tutoring
• Keeping Volunteer Scrapbook
Currently we have an active Volunteer Program which we feel is very beneficial for York Place and our children. These special children, who often have so little love and care, are on the threshold of life. They are the future and you can make it better and brighter.
Thank you for considering being a Volunteer at York Place.
