| A Residential Treatment Facility for Children & Adolescents | |

The Richardson Treatment and Evaluation Center is a state-of-the-art facility that provides comprehensive evaluation and intensive residential treatment for up to 20 children and adolescents. Located on our historic campus under the mature oak trees, the Richardson Treatment and Evaluation Center is architecturally beautiful, efficient, and safe. Balancing the needs for safety and a homelike atmosphere, many unobtrusive safety features were incorporated into the design. Residents have private rooms designed to provide maximum visibility of residents by staff. Staff stations provide ease of supervision and optimal efficacy of staffing patterns. The facility includes several areas for residents and staff to gather for small group interaction and leisure activities. Residents spend time grouping on the couches, chairs and tables in these areas, journaling, talking with each other, and participating in their daily treatment goals. The largest group area in the building has a bay of windows looking out onto the beautiful campus natural areas and has a wonderful view of the pond. This wall of windows offers a calming distraction for troubled families and residents and is a refuge for reflection. Therapists’ offices in the building are casual to encourage open dialogue with the resident. Each therapist office has a private outdoor courtyard where the therapist can conduct individual or family therapy sessions in a relaxed natural environment. Included in the facility are the nurses’ offices, a physical examination room for use by the doctors and nurses and several support spaces. |
