York Place Episcopal Church Home for Children has served children and their families for over 150 years. First established in 1850 in Charleston as an orphanage, the Church Home relocated to York, SC in 1910. Since that time, it has evolved from an orphanage to become one of the first Residential Treatment Facilities in South Carolina around 1970. York Place continues to serve children and adolescents who are "most in need" and without Residential Treatment services, may require psychiatric hospitalization.

| |
As a non-profit agency owned and operated by the Episcopal Dioceses of South Carolina and Upper South Carolina, York Place is governed by a Board of Trustees, comprised of South Carolina Episcopalians which includes the Bishop and 13 members from each Diocese for a total of 28 board members.
Since it's beginning, York Place has strived to meet the needs of children and their families. Having helped thousands of children and their families throughout its existence, York Place has stayed true to its mission.

| |
God, through Christ, calls York Place, a ministry of the Episcopal Church, to guide children and families toward spiritual and emotional wholeness.
